PDF to Word

Extract text from PDF to an editable DOCX document. Supports text-based PDFs. Free online tool - files never leave your device.

About this tool

Converting PDF to an editable Word document (DOCX) lets you modify text that was originally locked inside PDF format. Typical use cases include editing a contract received as PDF, reworking a document whose source file is unavailable, or extracting text for further processing. The tool works reliably for text-based PDFs - documents that contain real text instead of scanned raster images. Scanned documents or PDFs with complex multi-column layouts may not convert correctly - those require OCR software. Processing happens in the browser, and the output is a DOCX file compatible with Microsoft Word and LibreOffice.

How to use

  1. 1Drag the PDF file into the upload area or click to select it.
  2. 2Check the warning - the file must be a text-based PDF, not a scanned document.
  3. 3Click Export to Word - processing runs in the browser.
  4. 4Wait for completion - the time depends on the size of the document and the number of pages.
  5. 5Download the DOCX file and open it in Microsoft Word or LibreOffice.
