Every image format has different characteristics and an ideal use case. JPG (JPEG) is the most widespread format for photographs - lossy compression creates small files, but repeated saving reduces quality. PNG supports transparency (an alpha channel) and is lossless - ideal for logos, icons, and screenshots with text. WebP is a modern format from Google that combines better compression than JPG with transparency support similar to PNG - ideal for web use. GIF supports animation and transparency, but it is limited to 256 colors. The image format converter transforms any of these formats into another at the selected quality level directly in the browser - files are not uploaded.

How to use

3. 3Set the output quality (for JPG and WebP) - 80-90% is the optimal balance between quality and file size.

Specifications and limits

Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF - max 25 MB. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Quality setting: 1-100% (applies to JPG and WebP, PNG and GIF are lossless). Preserves transparency when converting PNG/WebP to PNG/WebP. When converting a transparent PNG to JPG, transparency is filled with white. Browser-based processing - files are not sent to the server.
